What is AM-2201?
AM-2201 is a classical cannabinoid research chemical, which has been used by scientists studying the cannabinoid receptors. Due to its nonselectivity and potent binding as a full agonist, many have chosen this for their studies as it has such a broad receptor binding profile. It is a classical member of the AM series of cannabinoids discovered by Makriyannis at Northeastern University. AM-2201 is a very potent synthetic cannabinoid, extreme caution should be used when handling this chemical, as accidental inhalation could occur.

What is AM-2201 used for?
It has a very high unselective biding profile, as such, it may be useful to some researchers who wish to map the distribution of both the CB1 and CB2 receptor within a sample of membrane in vitro (outside living organism). It could be tagged by a radioactive element to track its distribution. AM-2201 has a Ki of 1.0nM at the CB1 and 2.6nM at the CB2. Researchers may also choose to combust AM-2201 and utilise the vapour as a vehicle for high concentration and surface area application. It can be used for those researching mechanisms of action involved in Cannabinoid Receptors. AM-2201 may be utilised by researchers who wish to use it as a reference sample for their GC/MS, HPLC, FTIR or NMR analysis catalogues.
